Summer Is in Bloom at Green Spring Gardens

What have you done recently to get outdoors? If you’re looking for a new place to explore, add Green Spring Gardens to your list! This gorgeous public park features more than 30 acres of lush green space to explore, with tons of options for all ages.

The main entry is where Braddock Road and Witch Hazel Road intersect.  Fun fact: The park has more than 100 kinds of witch hazel growing within—maybe that is where the road got its name? There are 22 themed gardens spread around the park that feature incredible flora that’s cared for by volunteers year-round. For the little ones, go directly to the Children’s Garden and Discovery Garden, each uniquely crafted to engage little minds. If there are no kiddos in the group, head to the Virginia Native Plant Garden to see a piece of home or the Edible Garden to learn more about what veggies and fruits can grow easily in our area.

One of the main draws is the historic 18th-century plantation house called Green Spring. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so be sure to take a photo and admire the divine historic architecture!
